A lot of artists choose to direct their own music videos, for example, however some of them pay for others to direct and just ask to have their say in certain aspects
Spike Jonze is an American director, producer, screenwriter and actor. Born in 1969, Jonze has been known globally for his film and music video direction. It is the music video direction that we will focus on. Below is a list of music artists that he has worked with when creating their videos;
- Daft punk
- Fatboy slim
- Bjork
- Kanye West
As well as his music video history, spike jonze has also been known to take part in a number of other activities. He has been co-creater and executive producer of Jackass on MTV, He also co-founded 'Director's label', a series of DVD's devoted to music video directors. He has also been nominated for four academy awards for various areas.
His videos feature a large amount of colour and lighting affects, this then creates a better and more enjoyable experience for the audience and is something i will probably carry through when editing my music video.
