How did you use technologies in your construction, research, planning and evaluation stages?​

Throughout both my years in both AS and A2 media I've seen a huge increase in a number of different technologies that I've used, all the way from things like premiere elements and photoshop, to things such as goconqr, although my amount of technologies has stayed roughly the same, my effectiveness with how I've used them has increased dramatically.

 

Adobe premiere pro

 

in terms of editing software we chose to use the same program that we edited last year's horror opening on, adobe premiere pro, throughout this year i learnt how effective different editing technics were, such as the jump cuts showing sam going to the car and then into the car, last year this wouldn't have really applied as the time constraints we had were flexible, whereas this year we had to be effective ith the time we were given, this shows the progression of our skills over the course.

Adobe photoshop

to edit our digipaks and magazine adverts we used the program adobe photoshop, this is a piece of software that we didn't go near last year. this made it fairly difficult when we were just starting out using it as I had no experience what so ever, but by watching countless youtube videos I was able to see a gradual progression with my work and began to feel more and more confident while using tools such as the gradient tool. overall the use of premiere pro made my work look more professional and more legitimate as a real media text.

Youtube 

as mentioned above, youtube was an essential par of the journey from as to a2 as not only were we using it for research purposes in terms of the music video itself we also had to use it to teach ourselves the basics of things such as photoshop and to teach us how to further our skills on things such as premiere pro, and then, of course, we had to use it as a platform to upload our completed music videos onto

over the two years I have been taught to use different ranges of IT to better my presentation of my work and to make it more appealing, this year however I feel as though my use of these product has become more targetted and more efficient, for example, my use of the program 'goconqr' has been a real asset in terms of research this year as it has allowed for me to better get my point across in a creative and more direct way. presentation programs such as emaze and Prezi have also helped this journey as they have allowed an element of professionalism to come into my work through my presentation, this can be seen in both research and planning posts. 

Camera and equipment 

the equipment that has been used this year as fairly similar to the equipment used last year (DSLR and a tripod) however this year we had the introduction of a steady cam, over the two year course my confidence with a camera has increased at an overwhelming rate, I've become more comfortable with shot types and more fluent with pans and tilts (fluidity can also be applied to my editing work).
