Throughout the last few years there has been a noticeable decrease in the amount of CD sales. This is due to the increase in  software such as Spotify and apple music, because of this there has been less of a need for people to go out and purchase CDs and records as we can now access thousands of songs at the click of a button. since 2014 CD sales have decreased by 17% and music video sales have decreased by 20% (according to the BFI). this fall could also be due to an increase in piracy.
